Dear Fans,

Whew.

I've spent the last 10 hours fooling around with my website. Finally fooling around with my website. It's been something I've been meaning to do for a while; I mean, for the longest time the only things that changed on this site were…the ruminations. But no more! Finally I will be able to take full advantage of this, my little corner of the Internet, in order to promote my creations!

I guess I should explain a little. You see, the reason it's been taking so long to change anything on this site is that I don't have direct access to it. It's run by my sister, who is currently 13 months pregnant and is raising four kids age eight and down. Oh yeah, and she's also in the middle of writing another novel. So my little site is understandably low on her priority. This site is hosted by my brother-in-law's web designing firm, and since I'm not a paying customer, I can't expect him to update it. He's a very busy guy (and a very nice guy. Let me make that clear).

So (rolling up sleeves) if you want something done, do it yourself. I took my two days off, drove down to their house, and worked all day. These ruminations are the final step.

What did I add? Well, the biggest thing is this. Let me unveil my very own blog! And, since I'm a songwriter, this blog is…a little different. It consists entirely of MP3 files. As long as you got a good broadband connection, you should have no trouble touring through my latest melodic concoctions. And you can comment. Please comment. That's really what I'm excited about: starting up conversations.

I promise that this blog will be updated regularly with new material. I now have the equipment available to make reasonably decent demos, and I have a whole load of songs I want to record and upload. It's also a relief to not have to go through MP3.com for this. Not only are they not free, but their site is very slow and not very user-friendly. I'll be keeping my account there open for the sake of publicity, but all the downloads from now on will go here.

As you can see, I also upgraded the whole ruminations section, so it's easier to look in the past. I also added a few more photos, and put in lots of little things like amusing "hovers" for the pictures (a "hover" is what you get when you rest your mouse on a graphic for a second. Try it out.

Ah, I feel so much better now. My site is so…hip now. Now it matches me better. Heh heh.

Okay, what else? Oh yes, updates. Well, school starts at St. Mary's next week. I'm going to have to teach music to grades 1-8. I've never taught before. It's kind of scary, but not too much. Still, any teachers out there, I wouldn't mind if you emailed me some pointers…

Still living at home. My little brother Joe just left for college at FUS, so the house is a bit duller. But my little sister Anna is still home, so it ain't too bad. I just got in an argument with her yesterday about wearing Abercrombie and Fitch shirts. You know, A&F is that clothing company that advertises with pornography? Well, she got a couple old shirts of theirs from thrift stores, but I think, still, that she should BURN them, man. What do you think?

No new news on the chick front, either; probably 'cause I haven't been playing out that much…at all, actually. I've been playing nothing but church music for the last three months, and it's starting to drive me batty. Not that I mind leading in worship; I just need to do my stuff, too.And to make matters worse, my writing block is definitely over, and the songs are churning out again. And they're good, man. Sigh. Gotta get back home and record them. Better yet, gotta hit the open mikes and play them.

Oh, and that whole Scythian thing? Just forget about it. False alarm.
